When meeting with the tutor, take note if he or she is professional, timely and accommodating. Check out the physical appearance of the facility, ensuring it is clean and well maintained. Find out the school’s background and research its reputation. Find out if the reading and writing instruction facility offers lessons for kids or adults, or both, to help with reading comprehension or spelling. Sometimes kids and adults have difficulty with reading comprehension, writing, or spelling, and need extra help from a tutor or teacher to learn to read. Be sure to ask the teacher if he or she can provide lessons before or after school to aid your child in reading basics. Many teachers can give progress strategy tips and advice throughout the tutoring session. Tutors and teachers can help kids feel more confident in their reading abilities and hopefully score higher on tests.
